a head of black hair wandered the streets aimlessly with no set destination in mind. Her dark eyes scanned through the crowds which lingered, doing the same thing as she herself did. Oh...how glad she was she was not one of them. Commoners with nowhere to go. Nothing. While she, herself, had it all! She had looks, brains, money, all the attention she could ever desire, she was perfect. Absolutely and undeniably perfect. But, was she?
She was awfully bored today. There seemed to be no one worth spending her precious time with. These commoners were just so...so...simple. It was annoying. Honestly, wasn't there one above standards, attractive man out there? Calista merely sighed. Oh, the hardships one must face in her beautiful life.

It had been a long day for Nikolai already - he was so very exhausted, and one could just see it in his face. A little soot was splashed on him, here and there, from the forge at his smithy.
He carried three boxes in his arms, on his way to the palace to deliver them. He had created three, one for the king himself, and one for the generals of the army and the navy. They had been ordered of course, and it had taken him quite a while to finish them. He knew that they had to be perfect. And he had come very close to that. They were all identical, beautiful swords with golden hilts and inlaid ivory on the handles... both beautiful, and functional.
He knew he probably should have cleaned up a little bit better before he took the deliveries to the palace, but he was so very tired - he just wanted to get them delivered so he could get to sleep. He had been working very late nights lately, trying to get them finished as soon as he could.
He was so focused on walking, he barely noticed the beautiful girl walking. She seemed a little bit out of place... He took note of course, but did not stop... he was set in his path.
