Walk Me Through The Basics
Name:
My full name is Lemaye Callina Akshay. Some close friends call me Maya. Age:
I was born in the Autumn season 19 years ago. Birthplace:
Right here in Seza. Sex:
Last I checked, I was female. Rank:
While I’ve heard some people say my family is wealthy enough to be classified among the nobility, and perhaps worthy enough, we remain Middle Class. Our family is known for its powerful horses, often sold to and trained for the military. Species:
I’m as human as they come, though sometimes I feel as though I can fly! Sexuality:
Although I’m not interested in finding a companion at the moment, I’m solely attracted to men.
So What If I Look Like That
Hair Color:
My hair’s a dirty blond color, sometimes appearing a bit lighter in the sunlight. Hair Style:
I don’t really style my hair in any particular way. I just leave it down. Last year it went to the small of my back, but my parents had me cut it, so now the small curls only go a bit past my shoulder blades. Eye Color:
They’re a light brown, amber sort of color. Not really sure, since I don’t sit in front of a mirror. Height:
I’m about five feet and six inches tall. Not really impressive, I know. Build:
I’ve been riding horses and swimming since I was a kid. I don’t eat a lot, just the necessities, I suppose. So you could say that I’m probably quite fit, and at least healthy. I have a teeny bit of fat on my inner thighs, upper arms, and of course, around the middle, but I guess it’s not really that noticeable. I’ve been told I have a shape similar to an hourglass, though frankly, I’m glad my waist isn’t that thin. Scars:
Shoot, I have a ton of these! From falling out of trees and off of my horse’s back! Got some on my legs, arms, well, pretty much everywhere you can find a couple of nicks. The most noticeable are probably the ones on my left hip, forearm and shoulder, and on my knees and shins. The scars here are about the length of my hand and the width of two or three of my fingers, the ones on my hip and forearm being the largest. Birthmarks:
I did have one on my left forearm, shaped like a weird ‘x’, but the skin was pretty much gone after that one time I fell. Now the only one I have that isn’t exactly destroyed, or removed, is one on my inner right thigh, similar in shape to the one that used to be on my forearm. Tattoos/Markings:
No, thanks. I think the scars have taken care of any markings I might have wanted. Piercings:
Uhmm. . . . No. . . . I don’t want anything pointy near my skin, whether needles, pokers, blades, or sticks. (If a stick, I may just hit you with it.) Clothing:
I usually just wear something comfortable. Loose, flowy dress when I need to be presentable, and men’s trousers and a tunic for riding or swimming during the day. What do I wear at night for swimming? Most of the time, nothing.
Think Before You Speak
Personality:
Lemaye is a free spirit, one who runs and frolics about near the sea. She loves the smell of ocean water and the sticky feeling of the salty air on her skin, the smell that lingers in the air after it rains, and the sound of the waves during a storm. Often she imagines herself gliding across the waters on radiant white wings, her hands dipping into the water’s surface and sending sprays up around her. But she is told such things are foolish dreams and things of fairy tales and ancient lore. The water and its mysteries intrigue her, however, and whenever she gets to chance to hear of ancient lore from a traveler or a seafarer, she is all ears and smiles.
Her family sometimes jokes about how difficult it is to keep her around and in one place for too long, as she is always bounding about from here to there, unable to remain still. The yearning for the ocean and for a kind of freedom she can’t explain keeps her moving, keeps her searching. She is a curious individual, seeking knowledge and retaining it like a sponge. She is also a bit rebellious in her own ways. As a child she was likely to run off to the water’s edge without so much as a glance back at her parents’ calls. Authority has little control over her, and one could easily imagine her laughing in the face of any which tried to achieve that control.
Although she has a sincere, kind heart, she can often be a bit rude if she thinks it’s called for. Sarcastic. A girl who talks back. She hates restrictions and bonds, hates the idea of enslavement or servitude, and she fights against anything that even remotely resembles bondage, including marriage. Despite this resistance to bondage, she normally accepts the duties called upon by her family, among the few people to whom she shows true respect. She’ll listen to them, accept their criticism, but she will still, always, refuse to remain silent when she thinks something important must be said. She has strong opinions and has nothing against showing them.
Overall, she isn’t exactly a quiet girl. She’s spontaneous, daring, a bit reckless, and often considered a troublesome girl by some. She certainly isn’t shy and acts as if she’s afraid of nothing, though if she told you she had no fears, that would be a big lie. Afraid of death, never being able to see or feel the sea’s water and air, of never being able to ride a horse again, of losing her family. . . . She just doesn’t show it. Independent, stubborn, and strong-willed, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Of course, there are other, more acceptable terms to attribute to her, such as her, at times, being charming, open-minded, upbeat, and responsible, at least in terms of accepting consequences. Hobbies & Habits:- I love to swim! But it seems the only time I ever really get the chance is at night, since it’s not all that easy to just take off a dress and jump in when others could easily be looking at you.
- Occasionally you might see me climbing a tree, but don’t worry. I’ve done in plenty of times and have fallen just as many. Even got the scars to prove it! What else can you expect from an outdoorsy kind of girl?
- My friends have caught me daydreaming so many times already. They claim that I hardly ever seem to respond in this state, and they usually have to push me a little or even yell my name.
- I ride horses more than anything save for visiting the coastline, but mostly, I just combine the two.
- Sometimes I mumble to myself, but I promise that I’m not crazy.
Talents & Flaws:- Horse Riding :: Lemaye could ride circles around some of the best horsemen, trained at a young age like her siblings and other family members, so that they would be able to carry on with the horse business, and be worthy of it. Lemaye simply took the riding to the next level, always practicing, always pushing the limits. Her horsemanship is outstanding for one her age, especially among women.
- Dancing :: She can’t dance at all, or even sing. At least, she doesn’t think so. She avoids any situation in which she might have to dance, because she just knows she’ll make a fool of herself. Not that she’d admit it. She’d probably laugh at herself to avoid seeming embarrassed.
- Reading :: Being a quick reader, Lemaye has been able to put away a few books in the week when she isn’t outdoors, and most of the time, she has a tendency to retain the information, which has served her well, especially in these past few years.
- Writing :: Her writing is terribly hideous. Though generally readable, by educated standards, her writing is considered mediocre and unacceptable.
- Swimming :: Like horse riding, she can swim exceedingly well. And she’s not afraid of currents or waves or the fishy critters likely swimming around her. This is something she feels confident she’s mastered, and she’ll take every chance she gets to experience the thrill of it.
- Cooking :: She can’t cook to save her life, and this worries her parents to no end, wondering how she’ll support herself or even a husband, should she get one. Everything she tries to cook usually ends up being burned. (One might be able to blame this on her daydreaming.)
My Life As I’ve Seen It
Parents:
My dad is called Isen, and my mom, Roxanne. They’re both well-respected members of society, and they help where they can. Don’t really know how our family got into the horse business, but I hear it’s because of some connection my grandfather had with the military. Siblings:
I’ve got one younger sister and two older brothers, and while I hang out with them every now and then, our interests and views often go in different directions. It’s actually easier to go somewhere with my brothers than with my sister. They’re a protective little duo. Pets:
I’ve got my horse, called Daishar. He’s a big boy now, though when I got him a couple years ago as my own, he was just a toddler of a colt. He grew a whole lot bigger than my parents expected him to. Probably why they let me have him. Now he’s probably one of the best studs of our stock. They want to put him to stud next year, but I’m not so sure I want anyone else to have a piece of him. History:
There isn’t really all that much to say about Lemaye’s past. She grew up just like any other person, just with a little more responsibility than most people whose parents are as wealthy as hers. Taking care of horses, while fun, can be exhausting for anyone, and she nearly got stomped on multiple times as a child. Even back then, she went against her parents rules, said things they told her not to. She always asked “why” and “what if” questions that usually caused people to get annoyed with her presence, but at the same time, she was a happy, joyful little girl that people loved to watch. As a child she was so confused, not knowing whether people wanted her around or not. It seemed they didn’t know either.
Her parents, while they did spend time with her, often placed her in the care of her eldest brother, and so she became accustomed to running around, getting dirty, and playing a little rough and tumble. It was on one of her little excursions with that brother to the beach that she really started to become so fascinated with it. Her already dreaming mind went wild with wonderful thoughts from then on, and since, her daydreaming has become much more obvious and frequent. None of the kingdom’s problems ever seemed to bother her, even if they made her parents go a little nuts with worry. She just continued on with her life as a teenager, unaffected and generally uncaring. So it seemed, anyway. In truth, she was kind of curious to see pirates. She just could never tell anyone around her that, lest she be torn from the sea’s edge.
For the past few years, she’s worked with Daishar in training. It’s taken up most of her time, actually. The spirited colt was a handful at first, but he soon began to take to Lemaye rather well, so much so that he, to this day, has not let anyone else in his saddle. The bond they’ve created with each other over the years is unbreakable by any distance. She has talked to the horse as if he were human, littered her feelings and thoughts on him, and like any good listener, he remained silent and just gave her an occasional nuzzle. Coming to the beach now, she usually has Daishar in tow.
